Everything You Wanted to Know
about LInC,
but Were Afraid to Ask
Today's Agenda: Conducting a Discussion, Class Management and Procedures
- Today is mostly a work day separated by two lessons. One lesson will be learning how to facilitate a discussion. The second will help you learn how to troubleshoot your course.We will share with you what we know from our experiences of teaching the LInC course.
- Before we start we will address the "burning questions" you shared with us yesterday when you introduced yourselves to us and to each other. Because each of you has different questions or specific things you want to learn, we are going to have breakout groups going which you may or may not wish to attend.
- Conducting Your Class in a Discussion
- Discussion Simulation (for five)
- What did you like and dislike about discussions?
- Moderating a Discussion
- Analyzing Discussion Excerpts
- Hands-On Discussion Practice
- When not attending the breakout groups, participants should begin to write the pages they will need to offer their class.

Planning and Organizing Your LInC Course
- We have created a sample time table for planning and organizing a LInC course. This chart includes the items you need to think about, make decisions about, and include in your planning. It might be used as a checklist of things "to do" in planning your course.
Writing Your Own LInC Course - Required Tasks
The end products for the Academy are your staff development plan and materials to disseminate what you have learned in the LInC course about technology-supported engaged learning to other educators in your region.
You will have most of today to begin work on the tools and pages. There will also be additional time to work tomorrow. You will also have the opportunity to share with the whole group what you have accomplished.

| Today we will be providing support and help as you develop your own course. There will be breakout groups for topics that some of you requested in your introductions yesterday. You may attend the groups that meet your individual needs or you may continue to work on creating the materials for the course you are going to facilitate. Sharing Your Expertise: Tips, Ideas, and Resources
