Dear Vital Sign Participants,

Our Health and Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Sommer has asked the 2nd and 4th graders to design a presentation for the Annual Vital Signs Health Fair in March. Our job is to research the following topics:

• Nutrition
• Poison Prevention
• The Human Body
• Smoking
• Exercise
• Health Field Technologies
• She encourages other health related topics you may discover along the way.

She would like us to compare our Vital Signs with other communities around the world and incorporate these into our presentations.

During this year-long unit of study on Vital Signs, you will be required to:

• Research a topic in cooperative teams of 4-6 students.
• Participate in lab experiments.
• Post data from the experiments on the WWW, using Vital Signs Spreadsheet
• Interview at least 2 "experts" in your topic.
• Complete the independent study on the Internet.
• Reference six sources of information:

Web sites, Magazines, Experts, Library, CD ROMS, Vital Signs Spreadsheet

• Conduct Vital Signs Health Fair presentation.
