The first Ten Amendments to The Constitution are the Bill of Rights. They have played an important part in the shaping of our country. The eighth grade students were asked to assist by giving their opinions on their Rights as individuals and as students. Students wrote a list of rights they thought they deserved. The Constitution was researched to determine which of their rights were covered by this document. From this, a graph was created illustrating the students' responses.

The teacher will give each group a task sheet (table of contents that should appear in the student's "rights" folder) that will help them to keep a record as well as a timetable for their progress. This task sheet will be used later as an assessment tool for the teacher. The end-product should not only be something concrete as in a multimedia project, but also a sense of accomplishment and a greater appreciation for the Constitution.
